A sensor built-in seat developed by the team of Osaka Prefecture University. The yellow part at the left is transistor

A wearable (wearable) device incorporating electronic parts in a wristwatch or glasses has already been released, but the seat has less feeling of wearing and is less costly because it can be manufactured to print sensors on film. It is expected to be utilized for health management and prevention of solitary death of elderly people.

According to the team, it uses a mixture of carbon nanotubes and silver nanoparticles to print multiple sensors on a thin plastic film. (Kyodo News)
